About Kurai Cacao
Our story begins with a pause.
A personal ritual that became an invitation to share.
One cup. A moment to return to yourself.
In 2020, Marjorie discovered ceremonial cacao. Preparing a cup in the morning became a moment of presence in her everyday life.
Junior saw what that pause meant to her. He joined Marjorie in the wish to share this experience with others.
In 2025, in Florida, that wish took a name: Kurai Cacao. What began at home still guides us today: making room for a moment to reconnect with ourselves.
Origin matters.
We seek cacao from the lands where its story runs deep across the Americas. We pay attention to its origin, the people who grow it, and farming practices that care for the land.
As Kurai grows, we hope to explore cacao from different countries and regions. Each origin brings its own character, offering new aromas, textures, and flavors to discover—always guided by respect for the growers and their craft.
Kurai: a name you can feel.
When it was time to name this dream, Marjorie chose Kurai. To Portuguese ears, it sounds like cura, meaning healing. For us, that sound speaks of welcome, presence, and the care that begins when we make time to listen to ourselves.
Our symbol tells its own story. Two mirrored Ks speak of unity and balance; the three forms below reveal how that idea comes to life:
Quetzalcoatl's crown
At the top, a reference to the Feathered Serpent and Mesoamerican stories that connect this figure with cacao.
The feminine origin
At the base, forms inspired by the fallopian tubes honor the feminine, the origin of life, and creative energy.
The Tree of Life
Together, the elements form a tree: roots that ground us, growth, and the possibility of blossoming.
